President's Message

  Dear Friends and County Colleagues,

For the 124th time, county officials and staff will be coming together this fall for our Association’s Annual Meeting. In November, we will be gathering in San Diego County – and we hope you can join us.

Our theme this year is “Resilient Leadership.” Resiliency has always been a trait among county officials as we work daily to bring services to our residents in an ever-changing and complex environment. But the need for resilient leadership has taken on increased meaning over the past few years as we face new and expanding challenges. In short, the issues faced by our communities have become ever more complex, requiring new innovation and a resiliency for navigating challenges while improving and protecting the communities we serve.

Workshops will spotlight important issues that matter to counties, including reducing homelessness, public service ethics, and what the November state and federal election results mean to California Counties. We will also examine the role of women in the workforce through the Women's Leadership Forum workshop, while our annual Innovation Summit will focus on autonomous vehicles and transportation safety.

Our conference program will feature a dynamic lineup of keynote speakers, workshops and policy-setting meetings – all geared to provide you with an opportunity to learn, network and enhance your commitment to public service.

While our Annual Meeting will keep you informed, engaged and enlightened, we also want to hear from you. The conference provides numerous opportunities for you to weigh in on issues of importance to your county as CSAC begins looking ahead to the new year. And as always, there will be plenty of chances to network with your peers from throughout the state.

So please join us in sunny San Diego County for the 124th CSAC Annual Meeting. I know you will find it a wise investment of your time.
